Senke Jisshoku

Senke Jisshoku is a family of ten people and ten professions who prepare tea utensils that follow the tradition of Senke.
There were other craftsmen like this, but in the Meiji period they were considered to be the current ten.
This name is not historical, and since the “Ten Jobs Exhibition” was held in Mitsukoshi, Osaka in 1915, the name “Senke Jisshoku” has taken root and spread.
The “Jubi-kai” was formed around 1933, and now it holds exhibitions every three years.
In 1985, the “Jisshoku-kai” was formed to enhance technology and creativity while preserving history and tradition.
