“Sushi Sou” is located in a quiet residential area down an alley from gokoku shrine. I was introduced to this by a customer I have a good relationship with, and I was able to accompany him. We enter the store escorted by the soft spoken proprietress. The sashimi and food are served on the dish of Jinenbo Nakagawa and Koju Nishioka, and the conversation with the chefs, who love tableware, is lively and the drinks are delicious.

The flowing series of beautiful craftsmanship will captivate your eyes.

Careful knife handling, artistic nigiri reminiscent of jewelry. The more you chew, the richer the sweetness will spread.

Exquisite sushi rice matched with aged ingredients. He brings out the maximum flavor of the ingredients.

The Karatsu Dish by Koju Nishioka is displayed in the store. The customer brought the shino tea bowl by Toyozo Arakawa. Koju Nishioka and Toyozo Arakawa are lifelong friends. It seemed to show the relationship of trust between sushi sou and the customers. The work of art brings together like minded people with the same thoughts and sensibilities, and connects people. Another appeal of the store is that you can feel the cultural salon aspect of it.

Fukuoka Prefecture is one of the most popular sushi areas in japan. You can feel the husband and wife’s passion for their ingredients, their respect for their local regular customers, and their desire to let customers enjoy delicious seasonal fish. As the saying goes, “A store is its people”, and Sushi Sou is filled with warm human kindness.
