Yohey Yoshiha 1895-1986

Yohey yoshiha was born in kyoto prefecture.
Real name is Kennosuke.
In 1906, studied kettle under 13th Jocho Onishi.
In 1925, granted permission to become independent by the Onishi family and was received aliases “Yohey” from Jocho Onishi.
In 1972, handed over the headship of the family to eldest son Munetoshi and named himself “Souyo”.
He has also been designated an outstanding artist in the preservation of traditional techniques, and has been involved in training successors as well as appraising and researching kettles.


2th Yohey Yoshiha 1930-2017

2th Yohey yoshiha was born as the eldest son of Yohey Yoshiha.
Real name is Munetoshi.
In 1972, succeeded to the 2th Yohey Yoshiha.
In 2008, handed over the headship of the family to eldest son Masato and named himself “Souyo”.
Strictly adhered to the traditions of kyoto kettle and devoted himself to research and production in pursuit of new creations.


3th Yohey Yoshiha 1968-

3th Yohey yoshiha was born as the eldest son of 2th Yohey Yoshiha.
Real name is Masato.
In 1991, After graduating from Kyoto Junior College of Art, trained at a tea utensil dealer to study tea ceremony art in general.
In 1994, studied kettle under father.
In 2008, succeeded to the 3th Yohey Yoshiha.
In 2015, participated in the “Kyoto Contemporary Project”.
In 2019, exhibited the Shiseido Art House’s “Second Crafts for Us”.
