Jinsai Ito
伊藤仁斎
伊藤仁斎 1627（寛永4）年～1705（宝永2）年
伊藤仁斎は京都に生まれました。
名を維貞（後に維楨）、通称を源吉・源佐・源七・源助、号を敬斎・仁斎・棠隠、
諡号を古学先生、屋号を鶴屋七右衛門といいます。
初めは朱子学を修めましたが、
「論語」や「孟子」の原典を本旨とする古義学に到達し、
儒学者や思想家として日常生活の中からあるべき倫理と人間像を探求して提示しました。
1662（寛文2）年に京都・堀川の自宅に古義堂を開き、
79歳で没するまでに三千人の門弟を集めました。
40歳を過ぎてから結婚して1男2女を儲けましたが、
52歳の時に妻に先立たれ、
数年後に再婚して4男1女を儲けました。
5人の男子は優れた儒学者として一家を成し、
東涯（原蔵）、梅宇（重蔵）、介亭（正蔵）、竹里（平蔵）、蘭嵎（才蔵）は、
「伊藤の五蔵」と称されました。
