9th Hanshichi Shirai 1928-1987
The 9th Hanshichi Shirai inherited the style of his father, the 8th Hanshichi Shirai, and specialized in kenzan ware. In 1980, opened the kiln in Ohara, Sanda city, Hyogo prefecture. Together with his father, he had a close relationship with Teiichi Yuki, the founder of the japanese style restaurant “Kiccho”, and left behind many kitchoko works such as banquet utensils and teacups.
